Successes

Apr 11 - We are proud to announce our Cadets are the 2011 WGUK Championship Silver Medallists, well done in only their first season. SWA 2011 Presentation Night held with special thanks to Aztec Hotel & Spa, Aztec West. Congratulations to all those who were awarded trophies and medals. Performed at the Arena Arts Festival, Abbey Wood School Bristol and held 2 workshops.

May 11 - Cadets/Junior new practice session began with lots of new members. May 2011 Newsletter published. Boot Camp for Seniors and Parents begins.

Jun 11 - Raised £83 for `Cots for Tots' at Tesco, Willowbrook Centre. 2011 Cadets Performed at Meadowbrook Summer Fete and Willow Brook Fundraising day. We are delighted to announce we have 12 new sabers so our Juniors and seniors can practice even more. Thank you to those parents and friends who made it possible to collect them. Held first Summer BBQ.

Jul 11 - The guard was mentioned on Jack FM and in Bradley Stoke Journal. Meadowbrook assembly went very well, presenting Mr Barr with a framed picture summarising 2010. Newsletter 11 published.

Aug 11 - First Summer BBQ held, Newsletter 12 published and Summer workshops held.

Sep 11 - Open Meeting held Thurs 1 Sep. 2012 Competition documentation published. Bag packing at Morrison undertaken to raise funds for transport to competitions.

Oct 11 - Bag packing at Asda undertaken to raise funds for transport to competitions. Registered guards at WGUK 2012 Competitions. Succussful in obtaining grant from Quartet Community Foundation through`Rolls Royce Charitable Fund'.

Nov 11 - Tesco Bag Packing undertaken to raise funds for transport to competitions. Annouced 2012 Shows onto WGUK website. A Class Boot camp held.

Dec 11 - Received small grant from Bradley Stoke Council and Newsletter 16 published . Announced South Glouc Community Showacse Sat 14 Jan 12 at Thornbury Leisure Centre.

Jan 12 - Hosted South Glouc Community Showcase and raised £75 for Healing the Wounds Charity. Competed in first 2012 WGUK competition, Cadets with a 3rd Place, Juniors with 2nd and A Class 6th. Newsletter 17 published .
